New Public Safety Chief At Hialeah Campus

Stephanie Fernandez, 34, started as Chief of Public Safety at the Hialeah Campus on Oct. 12.

Fernandez previously worked as an assistant chief at North Campus and as interim chief at MDC-West for the past three months.

“As Chief of Public Safety I hope to expand not only my own skills and knowledge, but advance training and the skills and knowledge for the emergency management and response for the public safety department and Hialeah Campus,” Fernandez said.

Her duties include administration and operation control and management. She also facilitates emergency preparedness, as well as maintains safety and security of the entire campus community.

Nicolette Perdomo, 19, is a Mass Communications/Journalism major in the Honors College at Kendall Campus. She will serve as Editor-In-Chief/Briefing Editor for the summer 2015 issue. During the 2015-2016 school year, Perdomo served as staff writer for The Reporter.Perdomo was home schooled and earned her high school diploma in 2013. She aspires to become a broadcast journalist.
