Paquito D’Riviera Performing At Fred Shaw Plaza

Jazz icon, Paquito D’Riviera will perform his greatest hits as a part of the 9th Annual Jazz Under the Stars program at the Fred Shaw Plaza at Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 St., on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.

D’Riviera is a Cuban-born composer and instrumentalist with 14 Grammys to his name. He is known as the champion of classical music and has received the NEA Jazz Master Award, the National Medal of the Arts, and the Carnegie Hall Lifetime Achievement Award. He was also an establishing individual from Dizzy Gillespie’s United Nations Orchestra, and of the vanguard Cuban jazz bunch, Irakere.

The concert costs $25 and $10 for MDC students.
