Deep Concentration: On Oct. 3, students from Miami Dade College gathered to compete in the 11th Annual Student Chess Tournament at MDC-West. The event consisted of four rounds, each student getting the opportunity to compete against a new player each round. Las Banderas: On Oct 7 Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus hosted Las Banderas to kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month. The event featured an Afro-Cuban dance by the Kendall Campus Jubilation Dance Ensemble, music from the Kendall’s Studio Jazz Ensemble, and food from Ales Paella. Various flags represented the many Hispanic countries of students attending MDC.
