Medical Campus Hosts Blood Drive

The OneBlood Big Red Bus will be coming to Medical Campus, 950 N.W. 20 St., to collect blood from any student who wants to donate on Nov. 9  to 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bus will be located on 20th street near building 2 in front of the public safety department.

Students who donate will receive a free T-shirt and a check-up will be provided. The donation process takes about an hour with completion of registration, wellness check-up, and donation of blood. Anyone donating must bring a valid form of identification prior to registration. The wellness check-up includes blood pressure, cholesterol screening, and iron count. Any blood type is accepted. After the donation, the blood is tested and distributed to 200 hospitals that OneBlood partners with.

To set up an appointment, find other donation centers, or for more information about what to do before and after donating blood and other questions visit their website.

For more information, contact the student life office at the Medical Campus at 305-237-4213.
