Works from the estate of the late journalist, Norma Niurka, will be on display from Oct. 1 through Dec. 4 at the InterAmerican Campus, 627 S.W. 27 Ave., Room 3113.
Niurka donated her personal art collection to Miami Dade College. She played an important role in the South Florida arts community and left behind an equally unique, colorful portrait of who she was as an individual and the art she collected. The personal collection includes works from important Miami artists born in Cuba: Arturo Rodríguez, Antonia Eiríz, and Ramón Carulla. Niurka was a journalist, writer and theater critic published in El Nuevo Herald.
The exhibit is free and open to the public from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
