Homestead Campus To Host 13th Annual Day Of The Young Child

Miami Dade College’s Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace, will host its’ 13th annual Day of the Young Child  at the Central Lawn on April 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Our goal is for the children to have so much fun, they don’t even know they’re learning,” said John Barimo, the chairperson of mathematics and sciences at Homestead Campus.

The free event is open to the public and provides children with exercise, arts and crafts, and activities in the STEM disciplines. There will also be a mini health fair that provides screening, general information, and teaches the children a bit of biology. Parents can benefit from parenting resources and support mechanisms.

Barimo encouraged MDC students who plan to participate to bring their younger siblings, nephews, nieces and any child they think can benefit from participation.
