Koubek Center To Present La Verdadera Historia De Pedro Navaja

Teatro Prometeo will present La Verdadera Historia De Pedro Navaja from April 5-14 at the Koubek Center, 2705 S.W. 3rd St.

Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Spanish musical will explore the life of Pedro Navaja, who transforms into a Puerto Rican racketeer apprentice. It will center around socially relevant issues such as gender equality and the influence media has on society. There will be a diverse musical score that features salsa, tango and bolero music.

Directed by Edgar Garcia, the production is inspired by John Gay’s 1728 satirical opera, The Beggar’s Opera.
