Koubek Center To Host A Virtual Hispanic Theater Festival

The Koubek Center will host its first-ever Teatro on Screen, a virtual Hispanic theater festival in collaboration with the non-profit organization MarGi Happenings. It will be hosted on Facebook on Sept. 17-19 at 7 p.m.

Seven plays will be presented to showcase Hispanic culture inside and outside of the United States. There will be two plays on Sept. 17-18 and three plays on Sept. 19.

“The purpose of TOSF (Teatro on Screen Festival) is to unite and support theatre artists throughout the world and provide an opportunity for them to showcase their exploratory work in the virtual staging of plays,” said Marilyn Romero, artistic director of MarGi Happenings.

Each play will last between 30-40 minutes and will be performed live to emulate a typical theatrical show.

Theater groups from Bolivia, Peru, Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Chile, and the Dominican Republic will perform at the festival, according to Romero.
