Miami Dade College humanities professor Sarah Garman was given the Instructional Technology Council 2014 Award of Excellence in eLearning, a program in which classes are online.

The International Technology Conference took place on February 17th at the Hilton Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

For this particular online class, Garman did research in which she updated her course in order to make it more accessible, easier and user friendly to the students.

This technique improved her course with the help of Alex Strzyzewski, Instructional Designer of the web page in which her HUM1021 class is offered.

Garman’s award salutes her 24 years of devotion to teaching, a field she finds very satisfying.
