A Great Big World Has A Great Big Future
The polar vortex being in full effect didn’t stop hundreds of fans\from attending A Great Big World’s Album release concert on Jan. 24.
With the weather in the high 50’s, a swarm of leather jackets, boots, and scarves, took over the BleauLive Stage on the Ocean Lawn of Miami’s luxurious FontaineBleau Hotel in Miami Beach. The band was set to premiere their album titled Is There Anybody Out There? for their fans in an intimate concert.
The event, which was hosted and sponsored by Y100 Miami, first began with an hour of cocktails, mingling, and billboard hits spun by DJ Ross.
The lawn’s setting was equivalent to a soirée being held in prestigious Coral Gables with white furniture and dim lighting all around.
Upon arriving on stage, the talented twosome, Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino, who dressed in black skinny jeans and monochrome colored T-shirts, began to unleash their vocal talents.
Now for those of you wondering who A Great Big World is, maybe I should mention their number one hit “Say Something” which features Christina Aguilera, or the fact they performed in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show.
Their first album proved to contain a mixture of fun, melancholic, controversial, and innovative tunes.
The duo made their musical diversity a point throughout the show as they performed all 13 songs from the album.
The band clearly has strong opinions, verifying this with their song “Everyone Is Gay” which features lyrics like, “if you’re gay then you’re gay, don’t pretend that you’re straight. You can be who you are everyday of the week.” The reaction of the guys in the crowd was priceless to say the least.
