Wolfson Campus Selects New Dean Of Students

David Ascencio has been selected as the new dean of students at Wolfson Campus. He started his post on Aug. 2.

Ascencio will work alongside student services to provide resources and information to students.

“I plan to impact students by engaging, educating, and empowering them,” Ascencio said. “I’m really looking forward to engaging students, virtually but also in-person to make this city and college a better place to live and learn.”

Before joining Miami Dade College, he served for four years as the dean of students at the Community College of Philadelphia, dean of students at Broward College for 11 years and dean of students at Palm Beach State College for two years.

In 1997, Ascencio graduated from Buffalo State College with a master’s degree in higher education with a focus on counseling. He is currently working on his dissertation at Nova Southeastern University.
