College President Eduardo Padrón Recognized By Spain’s Prince And Princess

Miami Dade College President, Eduardo Padrón, was awarded the Juan Ponce de León 500th anniversary award on November 18 at a dinner in honor of the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Florida.

The award was in honor of Padrón’s contribution to the preservation of the Hispanic heritage in Florida.

Spain’s Prince Don Felipe, and Princess Doña Letizia, presented the award on behalf of the Spain-Foundation 500 Years, a private nonprofit organization.

The organization recognizes the importance of Hispanics’ contributions to American history and honors the 16th century Spanish explorers.
