Cornelio Named To NJCAA Volleyball All-America Team

Lady Sharks outside hitter Romina Cornelio earned First-Team All-America Division I volleyball honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Cornelio led Miami Dade College this season with 419 points and 359 kills. She also added 258 digs. The Lady Sharks finished the season with a 24-9 record and were one victory short of a national title.

This season, the sophomore was also named the Florida College System Activities Association Player of The Year for the second year in a row. In addition, she was selected First-Team All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and Volleyball Magazine.

“Her athleticism and her willingness to continue learning about the game make her a great player and a hard player to replace,” said Lady Sharks Head Volleyball Coach Origenes “Kiko” Benoit.
