Join Our Reporter Team

The Reporter, Miami Dade College’s award-winning student newspaper, is looking for students interested in writing, reporting, photography, illustration and graphic design. 

Eligible students must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits. You can apply at www.mdcthereporter.com/app-form/.  

Since its inception on Oct. 4, 2010, The Reporter has covered news across all eight MDC campuses. The paper also features newsrooms at North Campus, 11380 N.W. 27 Ave., Room 4209, Wolfson Campus 300 N.E. Second Ave., Room 1610 and Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 St., Room M239.

The publication has earned four National Pacemaker Awards from the Associated Collegiate Press and 122 first-place honors from the Florida Community College Publications Association.  

Last February, the paper was honored as the best community college student newspaper in Florida for the 12th year in a row by the FCSPA.

Juan S. Gomez

Juan S. Gomez, 21, is a psychology major in The Honors College at the Kendall Campus. Gomez, who graduated from Robert Morgan Educational Center in 2021, will serve as editor-in-chief, briefing editor and forum editor for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year. He aspires to become a social sciences professor.
