The Reporter Selects New Briefing Editor

Juliette Bryant, a sophomore in the Honors College at Kendall Campus, has been appointed as The Reporter’s new briefing editor for the 2024-25 school year. She began her role on Aug. 5.

Her responsibilities include assigning, writing and editing briefs and overseeing more than 10 writers.  

“I wanted to be briefing editor because I like to help people,” Bryant said. “[Briefing has been] my strong suit and I figured I could succeed in this.”

Bryant joined The Reporter in November of 2023. She has written more than 20 articles, reporting on topics such as President Madeline Pumariega being featured on Forbes50 Over 50—a special issue highlighting women 50 years old or older who are impacting the world—and a $2 million grant awarded to Miami Dade College’s department of cultural affairs. 

At Kendall Campus, Bryant, who is studying accounting, also serves as vice president of the Future Finance Leaders and volunteers at MDC’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. She also does community service at Royal Palm Elementary School. 

The 19-year-old graduated from Florida Christian School in May of 2023. She is slated to graduate from MDCin the spring of 2025 with an associate’s degree in accounting and aspires to be a certified public accountant. 

Flabia Llerena

Flabia Llerena, 19, is a psychology major at North Campus. Llerena, who graduated from Youth Co-op Preparatory High School in 2023, will serve as briefing writer for The Reporter during the 2024-2025 school year. She aspires to work as a therapist someday.
