Former Reporter Staff Writer Lands Job at Local 10 News

Isabelle Greiner, who served as a staff writer for The Reporter during the 2022-23 school year, landed a full-time position as an associate producer for WPLG Local 10 News.

Greiner, who started on Sept. 8, writes scripts for news anchors and designs graphics for the station’s morning shows.

She found her passion for broadcast journalism in high school at Miami Arts Studio 6-12 participating in the Zelda Glazer newscast.

At Miami Dade College, the Presidential Scholar was a news and briefing writer for The Reporter, from April of 2022 through April of 2023. She wrote stories about the Miami Film Festival, the reopening of the Miami Culinary Institute’s cafe and the return of the health and wellness club at Wolfson Campus.

“[The Reporter] definitely helped me in maintaining contact with journalism during my time at MDC, learning new skills, and exposing me to the discipline of meeting deadlines,” Greiner said.

From August of 2023 to August of 2025, Greiner was involved at WUFT, a PBS news and public media station at the University of Florida. She was a breaking news reporter, producer and control room director.

The 23-year-old earned an associate degree in mass communications and journalism from Kendall Campus in 2023. In August, she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida.

“I’m very fortunate to have had exposure to this field at the very start of my career,” said Greiner, who aspires to be a news producer. “I look forward to learning more about producing and giving back to the community I grew up in.”
