Zelma Campos, a business administration student at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus was appointed as the new Student Government Association District Board of Trustees representative on June 18.
Campos, who will serve as SGA president for her campus during the 2026-27 school year, will represent students from MDC’s eight campuses during BOT meetings.
“I felt incredibly honored and grateful to have the opportunity to represent the students of Miami Dade College,” Campos said. “At the same time, I was definitely nervous because it’s a big responsibility, but I quickly realized that the role isn’t about me, it’s about making sure students have someone who listens to them and speaks on their behalf.”
Outside of MDC, Campos volunteers at her church, and plays the piano and guitar. Campos is expected to graduate from the Honors College in spring of 2027. She is interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry.
