$1,000 Scholarship Opportunity For Education Majors

The Andrea Castillo Foundation is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to dedicated students with a passion to pursue a career in education.

Students interested in applying must demonstrate financial need as declared by the FAFSA, have a 3.0 grade point average, have graduated from a Miami-Dade County public school and have been admitted into a Bachelor’s degree program at Miami Dade College in early childhood education.

The award money may be used to cover expenses ranging from books, tuition, and other fees. Applications are being accepted until June 28.

The Andrea Castillo foundation was launched four months after the death of Andrea Castillo, by her mother Susie Castillo in an effort to memorialize her.
