Lady Sharks Sweep Northwood University In Home Opening Doubleheader

Miami Dade College’s softball team defeated Northwood University in their home opener, a doubleheader on Feb. 9. The Lady Sharks stormed past Northwood 8-0 in the first game, and 9-0 in the second game. Freshman pitcher Raquelli Bianco  went 2-3 and was lights out from the mound pitching a no-hitter in the first game.Sophomore outfielder Alexandra Schneider went 2-3, scoring two runs and hit a double in game one of Saturday’s double-header. Infielder Evelyn Morgado also contributed and went 2-3 in both games. The Lady Sharks continued to dominate Northwood in game two, shutting out the Seahawks again, 9-0. Freshman pitcher Cassandra Perez allowed only one hit, Northwood’s sole hit of the afternoon in either game. The Lady Sharks are 10-3 on the year.
