Eight MDC Professors Selected as 2012 Endowed Teaching Chairs

Eight Miami Dade College professors have been chosen as 2012 Endowed Teaching Chairs.

This year’s teaching chairs will be honored on Oct.22 at 7 p.m. at the Wolfson Campus’ Chapman Center, 300 NE 2nd Avenue, Room 3210.     

MDC’s Endowed Teaching Chairs program selects distinguished professors every year who continue to demonstrate excellence in teaching, effective communications with students, and professional growth. The program is funded by donors through the MDC foundation and is part of a 20 year tradition at the College.

Each honoree will receive an annual stipend of $7,500 for three years.

Endowed Teaching Chairs:
Yamina Alvarez, Endowed Teaching Chair in Nursing.
Lauren Gach, Jean-Marie and Dante Fascell Endowed Teaching Chair.
Sheryl Hartman, Freedom Tower Endowed Teaching Chair.
Mayté Insua-Auais, Espirito Santo Bank Endowed Teaching Chair.
Marta Magellan, Manuel Medina Endowed Teaching Chair.
María Mari, Juan A. Galan, Jr. Endowed Teaching Chair in Entrepreneurship.
Adelaida Quesada, Dr. Germán Muñoz Endowed Teaching Chair.
Kathy Thomas, M.Anthony Burns/Ryder System, Inc. Endowed Teaching Chair.
