The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) awarded scholarships to three Miami Dade College students in the School of Entertainment and Design Technology.
The NATAS and its partners in education— Univision 23, WPLG Local 10, Telemundo 51, WSVN 7, and NBC 6—awarded scholarships between $1,000 to $1,500.
James Pierre, Sandra A. Solis, and Jael Teme were chosen for their achievements in television production, journalism and overall academic standing.
Pierre, has a GPA of 3.78. She is a documentary and voice-over producer and has directed/produced eleven music videos.
Solis, has a 4.0 GPA of 4.0; she is currently working on a documentary about stand-up comedy.
Teme, a two year staff writer for The Reporter, earned her associate in arts degree in mass communications/journalism with a 3.78 GPA this past spring semester.
