Ask Andrea

Dear Andrea,

What should I do if I end up getting a clogged schedule for things to do for the weekdays-not counting classes-and I end up not getting them all done?

-Ben S.

Dear Ben S.,

I see that happen a lot—you’re a victim of college. What you’re not doing is visualizing your time correctly. Map out your week, take out all the blocks of time you spend on school and work, and then prioritize from there. Figure out which activities are most urgent and most important and commit only to those first.

I’m not encouraging you to flake out on your plans, but figure out how many of those activities you should do, and in the future, give yourself a little more breathing room. If you’ve never done it before, it also helps to make a to-do list!

-Andrea
