Anna Johnson Crowned First-Ever Miss MDC Homestead

Anna Johnson was crowned Miss MDC Homestead and given the Empowerment Award at the first-ever Miss MDC Homestead Pageant.

Johnson, who is in the nursing program and is expected to graduate in December of 2022, was one of six contestants vying for the crown on Dec. 9.

The 27-year-old is a United States Army veteran who served in active duty for four years in Belgium and as a reservist for four years in Texas.

“All of the other contestants are my little sisters and I love them so much,” Johnson said. “So as much as I feel honored to have my sacrifices this semester rewarded, it was bittersweet to walk away because they’re all queens.”

Jazmin Laughlin was appointed 1st runner up and Jimena Piña was selected as 2nd runner up and given the Influencer Award.
