AXIS, Miambiance And Urbana Selected As ACP Pacemaker Finalists

Three Miami Dade College publications—AXIS Creative Arts Magazine, Miambiance and Urbana—have been selected as finalists for the Associated College Press’ Pacemaker Award in the Two-Year Literary Arts Magazine category.

Finalists were selected based on work published during the 2020-21 school year. The award is the top national prize for literary arts magazines.

Winners will be announced at the ACP/CMA Fall National College Media Convention on Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. The conference is being held virtually.

Miambiance is the literary arts magazine at Kendall Campus. It has won Pacemakers in 2009 and 2018.

Urbana is the literary arts magazine at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus. It was selected as a Pacemaker finalist in 2018 and 2019. This year, the magazine was also selected as an Innovation Pacemaker finalist—for the second year in a row—and a finalist for individual award categories: COVID-19 Coverage, Multimedia Story of the Year and Best Use of Social Media.
