Book Display At IAC For Black History Month

Miami Dade College celebrates African American heritage with a book display in the media center at the InterAmerican Campus, 627 S.W. 27 Ave., beginning Feb. 3 through the 29.

This display will showcase books about African Americans that have contributed to life in the United States. A variety of multimedia from DVDs to CDs to journals will be on display for students to learn more about African Americans’ accomplishments. Explaining the impact African Americans have on society and culture is the goal of the heritage committee. They hope students will be able to learn and gain inspiration.

This year, the event quote is by Harriet Tubman: “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”

Viewing the display is free. For more information, email math professor Ileana Carballosa at icarball@mdc.edu.
