Children’s Holiday At North Seeks Volunteers For Dec. 11

North Campus is seeking volunteers for its 15th installation of Children’s Holiday, a free Christmas celebration for the community, on Dec. 11. 

Interested individuals can sign up to volunteer for tents and activities such as the Comic and Anime Pavilion, Enchanted Jungle, Santa’s Workshop or the parade. 

There are three shifts available. An eight-hour shift from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a four-hour shift from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and a four-hour shift from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Students who participate can earn community service hours.

“This event is a time for family gatherings to engage in not only fun activities but also educational aspects,” said Jesenia Patino, North Campus’ administrative assistant and co-chair of Children’s Holiday. 

North Campus is located at 11380 N.W. 27th Ave.

Ammy Sanchez, 20, is a mass communications/journalism major in The Honors College at North Campus. Sanchez, who graduated from Hialeah Gardens High School in 2020, will serve as editor-in-chief, briefing editor and social media director for The Reporter during the 2021-2022 school year. She aspires to be a journalist.
