Commencement Ceremony Moved Up A Week

Miami Dade College has moved its commencement ceremony from April 30 to April 23.

The graduation, taking place at loanDepot Park, 501 Marlins Way, had to be rescheduled because a Marlins baseball game will be hosted at the ballpark that day.

“We think that gives us the opportunity to have a full in-person commencement ceremony as we did last year, regardless of what’s happening because we’re in an outdoor facility,” said Madeline Pumariega during January’s Board of Trustees meeting.

Another option was hosting the ceremony on May 28 but the College opted not to have the event a month after the last day of spring classes.

Information on registering for the ceremony, picking up graduation regalia or getting tickets is not available at this time.
