Miami Dade College President Eduardo J. Padrón was awarded the Greater Miami Aviation Association’s Glenn Curtiss Award on Oct. 21.

The award recognizes contributions to aviation, business and private sectors for innovations, customer support, product quality and educational services.

“A lot of people perhaps do not know that we have a wonderful school of aviation, the Eig Watson School, and this award will help to raise awareness for the Eig Watson School and for Miami Dade College,” said Juan Mendieta, the director of communications at MDC.

The GMAA hosts a yearly gala, the Wright Brothers Memorial Gala, to award men and women who have contributed to the aviation industry in remarkable ways.
