Former Reporter Photo Editor Lands Job At CBS

Akeem Brunson, who served as photo editor for The Reporter during the 2010-2011 school year, started as a photojournalist for WFOR-TV CBS Miami on July 9.

His duties will include recording live shots and breaking news, gathering visual content for CBS and compiling voiceovers and sounds on tape.

Brunson, 29, completed his associates in arts in mass communications at North Campus in 2011. While studying, he interned at the Sun Sentinel in Broward and worked as a videographer at CBS 4 Miami. After he graduated, he was a multimedia journalist at the CBS station in Fort Myers, Florida for WINK-TV.

The Reporter helped build the base of my journalism,” Brunson said. “I’m, needless to say, happy to be back home. This is a great opportunity and I’m ready to see where this takes me.”
