Former Reporter Writer Wins Regional Emmy Award

Alejandra Zimmermann, who served as a briefing writer for The Reporter during the 2015-2016 academic year, earned a Regional Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on June 10.

The award recognizes Zimmermann for her work on a holiday special created for Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra Responde, a news segment covering stories in New England.

“I’m happy to continue working with this team, and fingers crossed we get another win,” Zimmermann said.

Zimmermann earned an associate’s degree in mass communications and journalism from Kendall Campus in 2017 before transferring to Emerson College in Boston.

At Emerson, the 26-year-old served as an assignment desk and special projects intern for NBC Universal before earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism four years ago.

Zimmermann started working at NBC in Boston in 2019 as a content producer, a position she held until this past January when she became a consumer producer.
