Free Afro-Cuban Dance Classes With Marisol Blanco

Dancer and master instructor Marisol Blanco teaches free weekly Afro-Cuban dance classes¡Baila Little Havana!at the Miami Dade College Koubek Memorial Center, 2705 S.W. 3rd St.

The classes start on Aug. 24 and take place every Tuesday through Oct. 19  from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the sessions, participants will learn about Cuban folklore and culture. They will also perform several types of dances, including ballroom, pilón, mozambique and rumba. 

“I teach my students strength, focus and a safe environment to explore one’s body,” said Blanco, who graduated from Instituto Superior de Arte (an art school in Havana, Cuba). “Most importantly, I teach them to learn and appreciate where they come from and where they are going.”

The classes are open to the general public.
