After two years of renovations, the Freedom Tower reopened for public visits and tours on Oct. 15.
Located at 600 Biscayne Blvd., the historic landmark’s reopening was celebrated during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 16.
Visitors can check out exhibitions that showcase themes of migration, identity and freedom.
Exhibitions include Libertad and We Carry Our Homes With Us, a showcase that details the experience of Cuban exiles being processed through the tower during the 1960s and 70s when it served as an immigration center.
The Freedom Tower is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is $18. Seniors 62 or older pay $14. Children aged 7-18 get a discounted price of $12.
Admission is free every Sunday and Thursday evenings from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Miami Dade College students, faculty and staff can visit the tower for free by showing a valid MDC ID.
