Freedom Tower To Be Lit Blue To Support Amigo For Kids

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Miami Dade College will show its support for Amigo For Kids, a non-profit organization that fights against child abuse and neglect, by lighting the Wolfson Campus Freedom Tower blue at sunset on April 6 and April 30.

“Let’s raise our voices and never be silenced in support of our most precious resource—children,” said Rosa Maria Plasencia, president and CEO of Amigo For Kids.

In addition to prevention, the organization wants to strengthen families and educate communities. The color blue is associated with depth and stability. Plasencia says stability is critical in any child’s life for them to grow properly.
