The scholarship awards $1,500 dollars to outstanding artists to use for two semesters.

“It will affect [my future] greatly in a positive way,” the 19-year-old said. “It gives me a little cushion to try new things.”

Sanchez, who graduated from the Colonial Christian School in 2021, is currently a freshman at Homestead Campus.

She is a member of the Presidential Club at Homestead Campus, which hosts seminars on how to build your resume, and the National Society of Leadership and Success, an honor society that teaches members how to be a leader and get jobs.

Her expected graduation date is in 2023. Sanchez plans to pursue a bachelor’s and master’s degree in digital art from Florida International University.
