Hialeah Campus Appoints New Public Safety Chief

James Kendall was selected as the new chief of public safety at Hialeah Campus on March 31.

He is in charge of campus security, overseeing patrol officers and implementing crime prevention programs at the campus.

“I hope that I can empower both my staff and the students,” Kendall said. 

Prior to his current role, Kendall served as a security staff member at the University of Miami for three years. From 2018 to 2020, he served as a security officer for Elite Guard Security Services. 

The 26-year-old earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Florida International University two years ago. 

Veronica Romano

Veronica Romano, 18, is a mass communication/journalism major at Wolfson Campus. Romano, who graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School in 2021, will serve as briefing writer for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year. She aspires to work in the media industry.
