Hialeah Campus Cybersecurity Student Lands Internship At Johnson & Johnson

Wendy Cossett Rodriguez, a cybersecurity student at Hialeah Campus, has landed a summer internship with the security risk department of Johnson & Johnson—a healthcare company that develops devices and pharmaceutical items.

The ten-week internship will go from May 24 to Aug. 26 in Raritan, New Jersey. Rodriguez will perform tests and vulnerability scans to check the security of the company’s systems.

“Having knowledge in all these areas makes me valuable as I will be able to solve many different problems,” Rodriguez said. “Having the opportunity to work with Johnson & Johnson is personal as I will be contributing to make the company—which has been a huge part of my life—better.”

Rodriguez learned about the internship during the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers National Convention. She decided to follow a cybersecurity pathway because she enjoys networking and programming, as well as the field’s diversity.

She is expected to graduate from Miami Dade College this spring with a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity.
