I AM MDC Day Scholarship Open Until Aug. 28

Applications for the I AM MDC Day Scholarship are available to all Miami Dade College students until Aug. 28.

The scholarship—a $1,000 prize—celebrates the life-changing impact that the College has made on students since its founding.

Students must complete an application and submit two essays—the first about the challenges they have overcome to study at MDC and the second about how the College is changing their future.

Recipients will be announced at the end of September via email.

The scholarship is funded by I AM MDC Day, a yearly fundraising event hosted on Sep. 6 to support students and programs at the school.

Alice Moreno

Alice Moreno, 19, is a journalism major at Kendall Campus. Moreno, who graduated from Doral Academy Charter High School in 2019, will serve as photo editor for The Reporter during the 2020-2021 school year. She aspires to be a photojournalist, film critic, or film director.
