Idea Center To Host Program For Venezuelan Women Entrepreneurs

The Idea Center at Miami Dade College is hosting FOCUS: Mujeres Emprendedoras, a 12-week program designed to help Venezuelan women in the early stages of their business ventures in South Florida.

The program runs from Sep. 1 to Nov. 17. It will be taught in person every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wolfson Campus.

Applicants must reside in South Florida, be fluent in English and Spanish, be proficient in computing systems, and be willing to invest $500 in their ventures during the program.

They must also have an idea for an active team member for an existing early-stage venture, have experience in their venture industry, and have monthly sales of less than $5,000.

During the program, participants will test their prototypes with potential customers, find their best product-market fit and learn different methodologies—such as design thinking and lean startup—of creating a business.

Interested students must apply by Aug. 20 at this link.

For more information, contact the Idea Center at (305) 237-7809 or ideacenter@mdc.edu.
