Jazz At Wolfson Presents Renowned Bassist David Wong

Veteran bassist David Wong will be the next guest at the Jazz at Wolfson Presents series on Dec. 6. 

The event will take place at noon at the Wolfson Campus Auditorium, 300 N.E. Second Ave., in Room 1261. It will also be available via live stream.

Wong, who graduated from the Juilliard School in classical music, is a member of  the Charles McPherson quartet, the Cécile Mclorin Salvant’s Ogresse orchestra, the Roy Haynes Fountain of Youth band and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.

He previously performed with the Heath Brothers Quartet and the Hank Jones Great Jazz Trio. 

Wong has recorded with The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Dan Nimmer, Jeb Patton, Dick Oatts, Joe Magnerelli, Wycliffe Gordon and various other artists. 

Jazz at Wolfson Presents is an annual series at Miami Dade College that showcases performances by renowned jazz artists throughout the school year. This year’s presentations started in September 2023 and run through April 2024.

All events are free and open to the public.
