Jazz At Wolfson To Feature Grammy Award Winner John Riley

Four-time Grammy award-winning jazz drummer, John Riley, will be the next guest at the Jazz at Wolfson Presents series on April 5.

The event will take place in-person at noon at Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. Second Ave., in Room 1261. It will also be livestreamed.

Riley has performed and recorded with artists like Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Woody Herman, Milton Jackson and Stan Getz throughout his four-decade career. 

The 54-year-old has also taught music at the Manhattan School of Music and the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Riley has also written The Art of Bop Drumming, Beyond Bop Drumming and The Jazz Drummer’s Workshop. 

Jazz at Wolfson Presents is a year-long series that features a wide-array of jazz performers. 

All events are free and open to the public.

Gomez, who graduated from Robert Morgan Educational Center in 2021, will serve as editor-in-chief, briefing editor and forum editor for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year. He aspires to become a social sciences professor.
