Lady Sharks Hire New Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Veteran basketball coach Mario Miller has been selected as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Miami Dade College. He started the position in July. 

His responsibilities include assisting with practice, recruiting and strength and condition training. 

“This is where coaching has taken me,” Miller said. “Hopefully, further along, I’ll be head coach here at Miami Dade.”

The 52-year-old has had basketball coaching stints at various stops since 2001 including at the Boys & Girls Club in Ohio, the Metro Atlanta YMCA, World Changers Church Youth Academy in Atlanta, Melbourne Central Catholic High School and Calvary Christian School in Kentucky. 

He has also coached baseball at the Paideia School in Atlanta and Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.

In addition, Miller, who has an associate in arts degree in physical education from Sinclair Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, has owned  One Three Fitness Training, a gym in Pompano Beach, since 2008
