Live Arts Miami To Host Choreography Workshop

Los Angeles-based choreographer Mike Tyus will lead a dance workshop at the New World School of the Arts, 25 N.E. 2nd St., on Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event, in connection with Live Arts Miami, will teach participants improvisation, ballet techniques, floor work and dance partnering.

Participants can also audition to participate in a Live Arts Miami performance with Tyus’ on Aug. 19 and 20. Audition applications can be completed using a form due on Aug. 4 or in-person during the dance masterclass on Aug. 8. 

Tyus has worked in the choreography industry for more than 15 years. His work has been featured on MTV, the Academy Awards and the Ellen DeGeneres and Conan O’Brien shows.
