Math Discussion Led By Award-Winning Cuban MDC Professor

Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace, will host Mathemagic: Mental Math the Cuban Way on Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. in Room F222. 

Yusnier Viera, a Cuban mathematics professor at Miami Dade College, will discuss his methodology for computing math equations using mental math. 

Viera achieved the Guinness World Record in 2015 for his ability to memorize and recite which days of the week that certain calendar dates fall under. 

He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in applied mathematics, both from the University of Havana.
