MDC Announces Leadership Changes To Its Top Brass

Miami Dade College ushered in various campus presidential position changes.

Alwyn Leiba was appointed interim president of the Medical Campus on June 17. Leiba, who previously served as the campus’ dean of health sciences, replaces Bryan Stewart, who was tabbed president of Kendall Campus on June 10.

Alanka Brown, who served as president at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus for nearly four years, has swapped roles with Oscar Loynaz, who served as president of Homestead Campus for  three and a half years.

“The campuses are the heartbeat of Miami Dade College; they are the pulse of the community,” said College President Madeline Pumariega when announcing the leadership changes during MDC’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting in June. “While we are one college, one vision, one team…each campus has a specialness to it and the campus president is the steward to making sure that the campus reflects the community.”
