MDC Baseball Alumni Game Scheduled For Dec. 4 At Kendall Campus

Miami Dade College is hosting its annual Baseball Alumni Game on Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Kendall Campus baseball field, 11011 S.W. 104 St.

The game will include a mix of current players and notable alumni. Among the confirmed former players who plan to attend: Placido Polanco, who was the Most Valuable Player of the American League Championship Series in 2006, and long-time Major League Baseball infielders Raúl Ibañez and Kurt Bevacqua

Former MDC coaches Charlie Greene, Steve Hertz and Danny Price will be recognized at the event. Greene won 935 games at Kendall Campus from 1967-1997, Hertz won 947 from 1984-2010 and Price won 298 games at MDC from 2011-2019 and 1,087 games in 28 years as the head coach at Florida International University.

“I want to honor the coaches before me,” said Sharks’ head coach Adrian Morales. “So it’s more of an alumni game slash coaches recognition to let them know we appreciate everything they did. All the sweat, all the work that they put in with the kids over the years who are grown men now.”

The game is free and open to the public.
