Miami Dade College students, faculty, staff and visitors can use the free LiveSafe app to call or text public safety, access emergency options, safety maps or request a public safety escort.
Once the location is enabled on the app, a specific MDC campus can be selected and the location from where an incident is reported is sent to public safety.
Incident reports and tips can be sent through text, photo, voice memo, video and anonymously.
LiveSafe also provides weather reports, emergency protocols and transportation links.
The College started using the app in September of 2016.
