MDC Live Arts To Host Afro Roots Fest 2019 At North Beach Bandshell

Miami Dade College Live Arts will present Afro Roots Fest 2019 at North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave., on April 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Afro Roots Fest is an annual celebration of African culture and music. This year, in collaboration with the Community Arts & Culture and Rhythm Foundation, the festival will commemorate women in African culture and Afrofuturistic music.   

The diverse lineup includes Mauritanian psychedelic griot Noura Mint Seymali and Malian spitfire musician Fatoumata Diawara. Alongside the African Watato Dance Theatre, these performers will carry innovative, Afrofuturistic influences to the festival.
