MDC Scholarship Available For International Students

The application for the new Marcelo Saenz Scholarship closes April 17. Varied amounts will be awarded to international students on a student visa who are enrolled in or accepted to Miami Dade College. Scholarship amounts will be based on the number of qualified applicants.

Those interested can find applications at www.mdc.edu/financialaid/scholarships. Applicants must have a 2.5 minimum GPA, although those without GPAs will still be accepted, and write a 250-word essay. Completed applications can be turned in to the financial aid office at any campus.

“[The essay] is pretty much telling us their story,” said MDC’s scholarship director David Medina. “We want to know more about the student, as far as why do they need the funds and what challenges they are facing in their education here at Miami Dade College.”

For more information, visit the financial aid office at any campus.
