MDC Softball Players Tabbed First-Team All-Conference

Two Miami Dade College softball playersCaroline Mito and Carina Amarillawere selected to the Citrus Conference First-Team by the Florida College System Athletic Association. 

Mito, a shortstop, was also named the Citrus Conference Player of the Year. 

The freshman led the Lady Sharks offense with a .450 batting average, seven home runs, a .686 slugging percentage, 40 stolen bases, a .518 on-base percentage and 76 hits.  

Amarilla, a sophomore pitcher, had a 16-8 on the mound with 148 strikeouts and a 1.74 earned run average.

The Lady Sharks finished the season with a 31-19 record, including a 17-7 mark at home.
