Twenty international students from Miami Dade College were awarded the Marcelo Saenz Scholarship on June 23. Each student can receive up to $2,000 under the scholarship.
Even though he didn’t attend the college, Saenz is a successful Miami-based attorney who wanted to help MDC students further their education.
“Mr. Saenz is incredibly kind and approached us because he had a deep desire to help students who were from another country and had to pay a different tuition,” said Ana Martinez, director of development at the MDC Foundation.
